About

Sion Jo is a South Korean street and documentary photographer based in Los Angeles, currently pursuing a BFA in Photography at ArtCenter College of Design. Drawing inspiration from the rhythm and unpredictability of urban environments, Jo focuses on capturing moments where stillness emerges amid the chaos of city life. His work often explores the interplay of light, shadow, and human presence, revealing the subtle tension between movement and silence. With a background in documentary and street photography, Jo approaches the city as both a stage and a living organism—constantly shifting, yet full of quiet, unspoken narratives. His recent project, In the Stillness of Motion, reflects his fascination with transient scenes that might otherwise go unnoticed, offering viewers a chance to pause and see the extraordinary within the ordinary. Through his lens, Jo aims to preserve these fleeting moments, creating images that resonate with both the solitude and vitality of urban existence.
